I’ve been working in Health & Safety since 2021, and to put it simply: it’s something I have a genuine passion for. Where some people see compliance and red tape, I see common-sense systems that keep people safe.
But the real inspiration for The Safety Lady started right at home.
My husband is a builder, and when he stepped out to start his own trade business, I took on the job of building his Health & Safety management system from scratch.
As we went through that process, a lightbulb went off. I realised firsthand how insanely hard it is for small, local businesses to stay compliant. Traditional consultants charge astronomical upfront fees, and the alternative is paying for an expensive, overcomplicated app that just sits on your phone untouched while you're busy on-site.
I looked at my husband's business—and our busy life with our two-year-old—and thought: There have to be other tradies out there facing the exact same stress. Small trade businesses care about safety, but they don't have the hours to spend on evening paperwork, and they shouldn't have to break the bank to get covered.
That’s how The Safety Lady was born.
